Atlantic City Hard Rock Beach Lounge Opens Memorial Day Weekend

The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City will open a new oceanfront concept over Memorial Day weekend (Friday, May 25 through Monday, May 27).

After asking federal and state officials to restore the eroded beach in front of the Boardwalk property, which caused severe damage to the casino's beach bar, Hard Rock Cafe officials took the matter into their own hands. The result is a new beach lounge where Hard Rock guests and United Rewards members will have access to chairs, loungers and umbrellas, as well as beverage service.

Our beaches are one of our most precious resources, and our teams work hard to protect them. ” said George Goldhoff, President of Hard Rock Hotel Atlantic City. “Providing guests with oceanfront amenities is a top priority this summer, and we’re excited to introduce you to our oceanfront experience this Memorial Day weekend. "

In addition to beach amenities, Hard Rock Hotel has also announced the opening of a new outdoor venue on the second floor of the resort overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The Terrace, known as "The Terrace," offers live entertainment, specialty cocktails and a seasonal table menu.

The beach needs sand

The busiest time for the Atlantic City casino industry is of course the summer, as the New Jersey beach town welcomes sun lovers and vacationers. The ocean is Casino City's greatest asset and amenity.

Hard Rock expressed frustration last month that government officials did not act quickly to repair sand erosion in front of the boardwalk caused by a series of winter storms. The weather event wreaked havoc on the Hard Rock's Beach Bar, with the outdoor facility largely demolished.

This is a problem that resorts encounter almost every year. After the 2023 winter, Ocean Casino Resort is spending $700,000 to bring in a truckload of sand to rebuild the beach at the north end of the resort's front boardwalk. The Hard Rock and Ocean Hotel are very close together, separated only by the non-gaming Showboat Hotel.

Bill Callahan, general manager of the Ocean Hotel, said last year that it would be hard for a hotel with "ocean" in its name not to offer guests the beach. The ocean transported nearly 12,900 tons of sand to restore access to the sea.

Hard Rock International, the owner and operator of Hard Rock Atlantic City, did not provide details about how the company would restore the beach or how much it would cost.

Summer Schedule

Like the city's other eight casinos, the Hard Rock Casino is gearing up for a busy summer that begins on Memorial Day. This rock-and-roll casino destination is attracting headliners to the beach this summer.

Some of the big names coming to Hard Rock in the coming months include Mötley Crüe (May 3-4), Kelly Clarkson (May 10-11), Penn & Teller (May 16-17), Steve Martin and Martin Short (May 18). ), Snoop Dogg (June 1), Patti LaBelle and the Commodores (June 7), Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons (June 22) and Kesha (July 3 ).
