Women's Winter Festival 2024: PokerStars Introduces $1,192 High Roller Tourney for Females
At the Women's Winter Festival 2024, PokerStars will host the first high roller event specifically designed for women.
The 2024 Women's Winter Festival [English Link] from November 21 to 24 presents the $1,192 High Roller Tournament [English Link], the inaugural event for females only. The Women's Winter Festival in London was previously announced at the European Poker Tour (EPT) in Barcelona.
Qualification for the Women's Winter Festival can be attained through online satellites, live satellites, and other qualifying tournaments on PokerStars until the maximum of 162 competitors is reached.
The investment to join the tournament is $1,192 (€1,120.48). The event is slated to commence around 12:00 PM. The Texas Hold'em competition will conclude on the same day. The victor of the tournament will also secure a spot in the European Poker Tour in Prague from December 4 to 15. Remarkable Female Poker Champions and their Wins
Several female poker players have achieved impressive feats and pocketed substantial winnings in poker. Vanessa Selbst, 40, from the USA, has earned a total of $11.9 million (€11.186.000) in prize money across her career and even secured a WSOP bracelet.
Kristen Bicknell, 40, from Canada, is also among the most successful female poker players, having earned a total of $6.7 million (€6.298.000) in prize money. She has won three WSOP bracelets and was crowned Poker Index Female Player of the Year in 2017, 2018, and 2019.
Liv Boeree, 40, from the UK, has also made a name for herself in numerous live poker competitions. She has earned around $3.9 million (€3.666.000) in prize money and a WSOP bracelet in 2027.
Additional Poker Tournaments for Females at the Women’s Winter Festival 2024
Besides the $1,192 High Roller Tournament, the Women’s Winter Festival 2024 boasts additional poker tournaments for females. Cédric Billot, Associate Director of Live Events Operations at PokerStars, highlights the importance of offering high roller tournaments for females:

One of the other tournaments is the £400 Main Event from November 21 to 24. This three-day tournament guarantees a prize pool of £100,000 (€115,000) and is a single re-entry tournament. The buy-in for the £400 Main Event is £400 (€460).
On November 23rd, the NLH 50/50 Freezeout will also be held. In this tournament format, a female and a male pair compete in different rounds. The points of both players are then combined as the overall result. As it's a Freezeout tournament, eliminated players cannot re-enter. The buy-in is 220 GBP (253 Euro).
