Agit Kabayel (31 years old) has taken advantage of the opportunity and, after his impressive victory over Frank Sanchez (31 years old by technical knockout in the 7th round), is the first German in over 20 years to vie for the world championship in boxing's elite class.
In the course of the fight against Sanchez, Kabayel said, "He hit hard in the first two rounds. I saw that he couldn't handle the pressure. We planned for me to be close to him, and it worked flawlessly. Thank you to my coach Sükrü Aksu. From the fourth round, I realized that I was really hurting him." Sanchez was counted out in the middle of the 7th round for the first time. Kabayel's body shots had taken their toll on Sanchez. He managed to get back up, but Kabayel turned on the afterburners and unleashed a barrage of punches. Sanchez could not recover from the second knockdown. Refereee Victor Loughlin sensibly stopped the fight.

One of the first individuals to offer Kabayel his congratulations post-fight was soccer legend, Cristiano Ronaldo (39 years old), who obviously watched the action in Riyadh live from the front row.
Kabayel on the encounter with Ronaldo, "He had already wished me good luck before the fight through Instagram and then just congratulated me and said, 'Great fight!'" Kabayel shared a photo of himself with CR7 on Instagram later that night.
Former world champion Anthony Joshua (34 years old), who was seated next to Ronaldo, also congratulated his boxing counterpart. Kabayel: "That was an absolutely amazing fight, he said to me."
Agit Kabayel has now made it to the pinnacle of the boxing realm. The sport's biggest celebrities have also taken notice.
