In 2015, "Die Zeit" highlighted the stories of several cult commissioners and addiction therapists who were well-aware of numerous addictive behaviors among callers, some of whom made significant phone calls and remained silent out of embarrassment.
Similarly, in 2015, "Die Zeit" spotlighted an internal Astro TV call guide, featuring explicit instructions on how to deliberately deceive and manipulate customers. The following year, Astro TV won the "Goldener Aluhut" negative prize in the esoteric category.
Ever since its launch, Astro TV has been regularly mocked by comedians, including Oliver Kalkofe (58, "Kalkofes Mattscheibe") and Stefan Raab (57, "TV total").
One of the most recognizable faces on the channel is clairvoyant Daniel Kreibich (40), who featured in the tenth season of "Promi Big Brother" (Sat.1) in 2021 and became the first contestant to voluntarily leave due to "severe pain". Perhaps he could have seen it coming...
For years, Kreibich - a self-proclaimed "European star clairvoyant, medium, and life coach" working for Astro TV since 2007 - has been controversial. He claims to "release energetic blockages", provide help with "energy losses", and "analyze clairvoyantly" topics relating to partnership, career, and wealth.
In terms of financial matters, a 30-minute session with him costs 150 euros, whereas a 60-minute session demands a staggering 200 euros. Simply astronomical!
