Taking into custody - Arrest made in Worms café attacks case.
A 48-year-old man is accused of hurting two people in cafés in Worms within approximately ten days. The authorities apprehended him on Tuesday, and he is currently being held in captivity. The motivation behind the attacks remains elusive. In both instances, he allegedly used a tool akin to a knife to assault the individuals.
On April 17, the alleged assailant targeted a 52-year-old man. He left the scene after the assault. Last Sunday afternoon, a 43-year-old patron sustained injuries from an attack in a different café bar in Worms. Multiple bystanders apprehended him, and police officers took custody without incident and issued an arrest warrant.
The victims experienced various non-fatal wounds. The case from April 17 was categorized as an attempted murder by the Mainz prosecutor's office.
