"The league's current status" - Are supporters of Bayern calling for Tuchel?
Imagine if someone told you back then...
a) That Terzic would still be a BVB coach in May 2024?b) That Terzic would make it to the Champions League final and be on par with Klopp, effectively making him untouchable?c) Tuchel would be let go only nine months later without a title to his name, both from Bayern and the Bundesliga?
Predicting the future doesn't require any fancy tools. Tuchel is still highly respected in England as a winner of the Champions League with Chelsea.
You know where Tuchel will likely end up next? England. He could breathe new life into Manchester United, like Klopp did with Liverpool. Could Tuchel be the next charmer in the English soccer scene?
Bayern is still searching for a new coach and should bid farewell to Tuchel with dignity at his final game today. It's not just a bouquet of flowers from the gas station they should give him...
Curious: How will the fans react? They celebrated Tuchel in Madrid after the semifinal exit. Will there be some sort of demonstration for him today?
On the flip side, we have some basement drama. FC Köln narrowly escaped relegation last week, after a surprising 3:2 win against Union. That leaves one more week of hope in Cologne and one more week of anxiety in Berlin. The "Irons" experienced the most significant fall of all 18 clubs. Union, once playing in the Champions League against Real Madrid, has seen a spiraling decline since.
Just after parting ways with coach father Fischer, they brought in Bjelica, the absolute worst coach they could've chosen. His firing came too late. Union has a very real possibility of being directly relegated on Saturday.
After their 3:0 win against Dortmund, Mainz is now facing the possibility of relegation. It's understandable that Terzic fielded a B-team, with Wembley on the horizon, but it's perplexing that a team with international players still on board surrendered so quickly.
Despite the loss, no one is questioning Terzic's coaching abilities anymore. This is thanks to the upcoming final!
