On the first floor of an apartment building in the Dortmund-Dorstfeld neighborhood, a fire ignited. The apartment was quickly engulfed in flames, sending them through the windows. The owner of the apartment managed to get out safely, but suffered from smoke inhalation. Since all the other units were vacant, he was the sole casualty.

It took several hours to completely stamp out the last remnants of the blaze.
