The beginnings of Eintracht's rising star. - Alsbach commemorates Rode's festival.

During the weekend, Sebastian Rode (33) concluded his impressive 14-year professional career, and on the following Tuesday evening, he led Eintracht to FC Alsbach in their first match as a retired footballer. This was the very same club where Rode played as a young boy.

Being a local hero, Rode arrived at the stadium on his bike and covered his players in applause as he signed numerous Souvenir requests. Thousands of fans gathered in spite of the heavy rain, anxious to witness his surprise appearance.

At 7:34 pm, the moment arrived: the midfielder was subbed off while the packed crowd cheered him on. Although he failed to score, he did set up Anas Alaoui's 10th goal.

Later, Rode expressed pure joy, noting that "This was something remarkable for me. So many familiar faces are here, along with my family. I felt right at home as soon as I stepped back on the old field. I wish I could've scored, but goal-scoring just wasn't my strong suit."

His former teammates made up for it, with Alaoui (3), Skhiri, Knauff, Bahoya, Buta, Ferri, Chandler, Chaïbi, and an own goal contributed to the resounding 11-0 victory.
