Before the clash in Kiel. - Allofs offers significant assurance for what's to come.
In September 2020, Klaus Allofs (67) came back to his home team in order to help them make it back to the Bundesliga. This will be his fourth attempt, and although he hasn't succeeded yet, he's not giving up.
Allofs has pledged to stay with the club until 2026, provided he's able to transform Fortuna into a team ready for the Bundesliga. He understands that he'll have to be financially restrained when making purchases and patient when it comes to upgrades like a new functional building. However, he'd still be interested in keeping Fortuna in the 2nd division if they don't make it to the Bundesliga.
Allofs is determined to continue his efforts even if Fortuna doesn't make it to the Bundesliga this time. He's optimistic about their chances since they've gone 12 consecutive games without a loss. The manager, who usually doesn't travel with the team on game days, will be joining them in Kiel on Friday. His main priority is to ensure they meet the minimum requirement to avoid relegation.
Recently, the former Düsseldorf legend had a blunt message for Hamburger SV, who still mathematically have a shot at third place with four points and a 13-goal deficit: "I can't really give HSV any hope. I see no reason why we can't be optimistic."
If promotion doesn't happen this season, Allofs is prepared to try again with Fortuna next season.
