Allegiant adds services for NFL Raiders game in Las Vegas
Allegiant is making it easier for visiting fans to visit the home of the NFL’s Las Vegas Raiders in southern Nevada, just west of the Las Vegas Strip.
Headquartered in Summerlin, Allegiant is one of the 15 largest airlines in North America. The airline acquired the naming rights to Raiders Stadium in 2019 when it agreed to pay $25 million annually to the Las Vegas Stadium Authority, the $1.9 billion owner, in exchange for the 65,000-seat Expensive sponsored facilities. The Las Vegas Stadium Authority is controlled by Clark County government.
Allegiant Stadium is home to the Las Vegas Raiders, but Allegiant Stadium does not select teams at their games. The airline announced this week that it will offer temporary flights between Las Vegas and the southern Nevada city to attend Raiders games in the coming weeks.
Loyalist officials said they will increase flights between Las Vegas and Pittsburgh this weekend in anticipation of the Steelers' arrival. The airline will also expand Las Vegas service to Kansas City in November ahead of the Chiefs' arrival in Sin City.
Welcome Visitors
Allegiant said temporarily expanding service to and from Las Vegas to select NFL cities will make Nevada more accessible for visiting fans.
We are excited to offer these special flights to the league's most passionate fan base," said Drew Wells, Allegiant senior vice president and chief revenue officer."Every year we look for ways to connect NFL fans to Taken to a first-class vacation destination so they can watch their team play. "These flights have been extremely popular with our customers and we expect these flights to sell out ahead of the game. "
The Raiders will face the Steelers on September 24 and the Chiefs on November 26. Since Las Vegas is also home to large crowds of Cowboys and Chargers fans, Allegiant is also temporarily adding flights to Los Angeles for the Oct. 16 "Monday Night Football" matchup.
For Steelers and Chiefs games at Allegiant Stadium, the airline is offering fans one-stop shopping that includes airfare, a two-night hotel stay and game tickets bundled together.
The Steelers' "Fan Package" includes round-trip airfare from Pittsburgh, one carry-on and checked bag, priority boarding, a standard seat at Allegiant Stadium and a choice of a three-star or higher casino hotel room for two nights.
Season Begins
The Las Vegas Raiders opened the regular season with a 17:16 win over the Broncos in Denver. The Silver and Black then had a disappointing performance in Buffalo, where the Bills defeated the Raiders 38-10.
Not high expectations for Las Vegas. Two weeks later, DraftKings gave the Raiders odds of winning the Super Bowl at 100/1.
The Chiefs are 1/3 favorites to win the AFC West. The Chargers are at 4/1, while the Raiders are at 10/1. The Raiders' regular season win total was just 7.5 games.
