'All In for Hope' celebrity poker tournament benefits cancer patients
City of Hope, a cancer research hospital and treatment facility in Los Angeles, has announced an upcoming celebrity poker tournament to raise funds for the foundation to support the treatment of cancer patients.
The All In For Hope Celebrity Poker Tournament begins on May 31 and is presented by City of Hope at Creative Artists Agency in Los Angeles. City of Hope is a National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center and a founding member of The Cancer Society. So this event aims to raise funds for a truly great cause, one that is close to many people's hearts.
With a buy-in of $500 and unlimited repurchases of $250 during the first hour of play, the All In For Hope Celebrity Poker Tournament should raise significant funds to support cancer patients and their medical needs .
Final Table Now Watching
With the exception of first and second place, every player who reaches the final table will receive a watch donated by TW Steel as a gift. Additionally, the contest will feature an auction for prizes such as tickets to a meet-and-greet with comedian Ray Romano, tickets to the San Francisco Outdoor Music and Arts Festival, a trip to Cabo, and other great prizes. All proceeds will go to charity.
The top prize in this celebrity event is a guaranteed spot and luxury accommodations in the 2013 World Series of Poker Main Event in Las Vegas, so players entering this tournament must put on a serious poker face and get down to business in order to get the chance. Flying to Las Vegas; 2006 World Series of Poker Main Event winner Jamie Gold is on the guest list.
Rob Light, winner of the 2013 Spirit of Life Award, will host the event, which will also feature actors Tony Danza and Joe Mangariella and actress Mimi Rogers (Tom Cruise's first ex-wife) and Camryn Manheim will also be in attendance.
