The Tony Awards for the 77th edition have revealed their list of nominations. The musical "Hell's Kitchen" has secured a shot at snagging awards in the American theater and musical field. Alicia Keys (43) and Kristoffer Diaz, who are responsible for the music, lyrics, and book for the play, are up for a fantastic 13 nominations with their team. This ties only with the 1970s play "Stereophonic".

"Stereophonic" is competing for "Best Play", while "Hell's Kitchen" is in the running for "Best Musical". Additionally, Kristoffer Diaz is up for "Best Book of a Musical", Maleah Joi Moon for Best Leading Actress, Brandon Victor Dixon for Best Supporting Actor, and Shoshana Bean for Best Supporting Actress. Further categories could include awards for "Best Musical Direction", "Best Costume Design", or "Best Set Design". "Hell's Kitchen" made its debut on Broadway in mid-April, featuring a semi-autobiographical story of a young woman growing up in the New York neighborhood of the same name during the 1990s. At that time, Alicia Keys and her mother resided there after her parents separated.
