Vineyard community - Alert for chlorine gas in a supermarket.

A man quickly reacted and sealed off a cold store airtight. Due to this, firefighters and police were able to evacuate the supermarket. The firefighters donned chemical protection suits and neutralized the leaked chlorine gas, cleaning the affected area near Stuttgart until late. Thankfully, no one was injured during the incident.

What's interesting is that similar accidents could also occur in homes. Mixing chlorine cleaner with vinegar, citric acid, or other acidic cleaners can lead to chlorine gas leaks. The Federal Working Group "More Safety for Children" advises caution against such mixes as its consequences could range from mild breathing difficulties to potentially fatal lung damage.

The accident occurred on Strümpfelbacher Straße in Weinstadt
