Gathering for a venison stew - After facing issues concerning the Eberhofer film, writer Falk maintains no ill feelings.
In August, during an interview with Der Spiegel, she described the latest movie version of her story as "extremely dull, lowbrow, and even crude at times". She distanced herself from the film and criticized how much of her original work remained.
Now, nearly 9 months later, she stated: "I think I'm like the mother of this project and I have the right to criticize. That's what I did". She emphasized that she has no hard feelings towards the production company. She believes that the book and movie have an influence on each other, and the filmmakers need some level of independence. "I think that's essential. But you can't let them go too far, and unfortunately, they crossed that line".
Falk's popular crime series about Franz Eberhofer, a fictional village police officer, consists of twelve books. The next installment is expected to be released in 2025, she shared just before her 60th birthday on May 30.
These days, she's been taking a break, traveling, and gathering inspiration for the next murder mystery. For Falk, the character Eberhofer is deeply linked to the actor who plays the role in the film adaptations, Sebastian Bezzel.
