Paul was watching a basketball game between the Minnesota Timberwolves and Dallas Mavericks on US broadcaster TNT. During the game, he commented: "LeBron can become a free agent this summer."

This is because LeBron has a clause in his contract called a "player option." If he chooses to use it, he'll earn $51.4 million next season. So, Paul argues, "He should focus on his business, and I'll focus on mine."
In other words, he's talking about his coal trading.
Unless LeBron decides to opt out, his current contract will keep him with the Lakers for another season. But, if he does, the Lakers can offer a whopping three-year deal worth $162 million. Apparently, LeBron plans to keep playing for the next two to three years.
Apart from the Lakers, the Philadelphia 76ers have been rumored to be interested in James.
Yet, it's probably not all about the money for LeBron. The Lakers were eliminated in the first round against the recent champions, the Denver Nuggets. As a result, coach Darvin Ham got fired. According to rumors, James is considering J.J. Redick as the new coach. If true, it would put more pressure on the Lakers.
Additionally, James has said before that he would base his future decisions on his son Bronny. The 19-year-old has registered for the NBA Draft in June and hopes to secure a spot in the league. If he does, teams might try to capitalize on LeBron's interest in joining his son's team.
