Intense firefighting intervention - Accident: Vehicle collides with Berlin waterbody; fatality ensues.
Police claim that a car fell down a slope into the Schlachtensee at around 9:26 pm. Rescue divers from the water rescue service and fire department retrieved the man from the water. Despite attempts at reviving him, the driver perished en route to the hospital.
Late Friday evening, the fire department publicized the mishap via Platform X, stating, "Currently, we have 46 firefighters on site, with help from DLRG divers and a rescue helicopter."
Reports indicate that the driver had been speeding through the forest, leading to a descent down the slope and into the water.
