Abusers of Mia (age 12) may have targeted additional children.

Hostel rooms were reserved in Vienna's 10th district for 56 euros per night, where they reportedly assaulted a 12-year-old girl named Mia (name changed). It's suspected that the same 17 rapists (aged 13 to 19) from Vienna may have targeted other children.

Rape committed by a group in Vienna. - Abusers of Mia (age 12) may have targeted additional children.

Up until four days before they were arrested provisionally on February 29, 2024, the "Antons" (named after their meeting spot in Vienna's Antonsplatz) would send pictures of their victims through the Snapchat app, treating them like bloody trophies.

Data forensic experts studied the phones in question and concluded that these individuals would rent hotel rooms and engage in sexual acts with underage females - sometimes more than one at a time.

The images could be traced back to stays at several hotels between September 8 and 9, 2023, and January 17, 27, and 29, 2024, and February 25, 2024. The reservation emails were sent via Jakub's iPhone 12, which was logged into the Wi-Fi at two different locations.

Surprisingly, the prosecutor's office appears to believe that these acts were consensual between the youths involved.

Even though there's no indication of potential future crimes, the suspects have yet to be detained. The public prosecutor mentioned that this stance may change in the future.

The suspects used their cell phones to document how they met girls in hostel rooms

Mia's high-profile attorney, Sascha Flatz (45), is pushing for a change in the suspects' status: "The current findings of the investigation give me hope that the prosecutor's office might reconsider the decision to release the perpetrators."

Jakub was the sole suspect in custody until April 26 - he'd committed the heinous act of punching two officers, then kicking them, and threatening to harm them while being brought before the LKA on February 29.

During the detention hearing, Jakub showed remorse and expressed a desire to complete his education and undergo therapy. Impressed by Jakub's plea, the judge granted him freedom: evidently, the "evils of prison" had left their mark on him.
