The Harres-Klops phenomenon. - Abruptly, Dresden wishes to reacquire their top scorer.
The leading scorer in the Regionalliga Südwest is Phil Harres (22). He was previously a Dynamo player but moved to FC Homburg last summer. Harres has thrived there, scoring 22 goals.
Measuring in at 1.93m, Harres has all the necessary attributes for higher expectations and would be a great fit for Dresden's criteria for the upcoming season.
Notably, SGD had previously overlooked him. In 2021, Harres went on loan to Ulm for two years. During his time there, he scored 8 goals in 34 matches. This prompted Dresden to recall him a season early. Upon his return, he didn't make an instant impact and they quickly sought the next temporary addition via Viktoria Berlin.
Harres once again scored 8 goals in 28 matches for the regional league team. However, Dynamo ran out of patience and allowed him to join Homburg on a free transfer without a buy-back clause in 2023. A shame!
Scoring Machines Get Death Threats
Interestingly, Harres' successful scoring streak has also drawn the attention of "fans" from Stuttgarter Kickers. As they too are competing for promotion to the third division and will face Homburg on Saturday for their final game, they've made a chilling threat to the striker if he scores against them: some unpleasant consequences await him. Spooky!
In other news, Dynamo Dresden is eyeing Julian Kania (22) from Nuremberg II, who has also wreaked havoc in the Bayern regional league with 23 goals and 9 assists. The question remains whether FCN will permit the player's departure.
