Animal personnel surprised - Abandoned ten felines found in a discarded carton.
According to the Leipzig Animal Shelter, their job involves facing unpleasant situations like abandoned and neglected animals. This week, they encountered a scenario that even professionals haven't witnessed before.
A horrific incident
On Wednesday, a staff member was summoned to a location that has left animal lovers stunned in Leipzig. Ten kittens of different ages, apparently abandoned in a box were found. Some of these kittens were in a terrible state. Two of them had severely deformed hind legs, as shared by the animal carers. Furthermore, another kitten endured a severe form of ataxia - a neurological disorder that prevented them from moving or eating.
tragically, the vet was forced to euthanize two of the kittens due to their condition. The other kittens are now recuperating under the care of the animal shelter. However, this task requires financial support since it involves veterinary costs for the team. Thus, the Leipzig Animal Shelter is asking for donations to cover the expenses.
