Individual sought to sexually assault the victim - A woman aged 44 was attacked in a forest within the city.
It's said that a 44-year-old woman was taking a stroll in the Eilenriede park in Hanover, Germany, around 1 p.m. on a Monday afternoon. Out of the blue, a stranger attacked her, choked her, and dragged her to the ground. The intruder even partly undressed his victim.
The woman put up a fight, cried for help. Her cries drew attention from two pedestrians who ran to her rescue. More help arrived shortly after, one of which happened to be an off-duty police officer. They successfully freed the woman and arrested the attacker.
The police were promptly alerted and quickly captured the 28-year-old perpetrator. Currently, he's being examined for attempted rape. A judge ordered him to be placed in a psychiatric hospital.
A police representative declared, "The woman was taken to the hospital with major injuries." No additional information was given by the authorities.
