In the heart of a residential sector, - A wolf gazes into the dwelling place.

A wolf was spotted peering into a living space through a window in a garden in the Elsfleth area of Oberhammelwarden, Lower Saxony. The creature stayed there for a few moments before calmly walking away. A neighbor managed to capture the scene with her camera, noting that the wolf was quite calm and simply curious.

The woman had previously encountered the creature by a nearby fishing pond, so she quickly brought her cat indoors and secured it.

While this isn't the first time wolves have been spotted in the area, it might be the most trusting encounter yet. However, there's a possibility it could have been a dog. Jörg Thielen, a wolf consultant from the NLWKN in Lower Saxony, confirmed that the animal is indeed a wolf.

The District of Wesermarsch made an announcement, stating that it was likely a young wolf that was wandering through residential areas. They've enlisted the help of the nature conservation authority and the specialist service for safety and order to keep track of the animal's movements.

Puppies are known to develop a lack of fear towards humans when they're born in close proximity to towns and cities. However, this doesn't always lead to concerning behavior. The Federal Ministry for the Environment explains that animals with a habituation to humans should be startled away early on and should never be given food.

Across Lower Saxony, there are 56 identified wolf territories, including 50 packs, 4 pairs, and 2 individual wolves. The pup being seen here could potentially come from the Garlstedt pack, which is approximately 20 kilometers away. This specific pack currently has three pups.

Oberhammelwarden lies directly on the beautiful Weser beach. The wolf may have crossed the river. The animals are good swimmers
