A visitor at Caesars Palace lost $120,000 and a Rolex watch in a theft by two prostitutes.
A person who recently visited Caesars Palace in Las Vegas woke up one morning to discover that two women had robbed him of $120,000 in cash and his Rolex watch. This shocking incident occurred just a few days ago, on Thursday, while the man was celebrating after winning big on the casino's blackjack tables.
The unidentified victor had been enjoying a night out with his coworkers, and they had been playing the card game for a few hours before he eventually took home the massive sum of money. Due to his success, he opted to receive his earnings in the form of cold, hard cash rather than having the casino issue a check in his name.
During this celebration, he encountered two women, and the trio soon found themselves back at the man's hotel room. Following a bout of romance, the man drifted off to sleep, seemingly unaware of what had just transpired.
Authorities from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) were able to piece together the events of the night through surveillance videos. The footage confirmed the presence of the two female suspects in and out of the room, each bearing unique tattoos.
Furthermore, the police were able to locate the women's vehicles, which ultimately led them to their identities. The two suspects, Coriana Singleton, 29, and Marriah Vanderwaal, 32, were later arrested, although they were not in custody as of Wednesday morning. Their cases were handed over to the prosecutors.
Before this incident, Singleton had previous encounters with the law, as per the LVMPD records.
The term "trick rolling" has been used by the police to describe the crime. This refers to a situation where a prostitute steals money or valuable possessions from their client after the two have engaged in a sexual encounter.
In a similar case that transpired in September at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, Jaydn Nicole Edwards, 23, was arrested. She is believed to have stolen $25,000 in cash and a Rolex watch worth $30,000 from a patron at the hotel. Edwards was charged with theft, conspiracy to commit theft, and a probation violation. Her accomplice in this crime, Quansae Rutlege, was apprehended as well and charged with theft and conspiracy to commit theft.
Today, both Edwards' and Rutlege's cases are being handled by the courts.
While the stolen cash and watch from Caesars Palace have yet to be recovered by the police, the Rolex was estimated to be worth $20,000. The man was in Las Vegas for a business convention.
This form of robbery, often called "trick rolling," is common in this Nevada city, according to the local authorities.
