Two killings have taken place. - A trial calls for two not guilty verdicts and a jail term.

During the trial concerning the violent assault against a couple from Altenstadt in Neu-Ulm's district, defense attorneys are pushing for acquittals for two of the defendants. Specifically, for a 38-year-old defendant, his defense lawyer has argued for a twelve-year sentence for manslaughter and death by assault at the Memmingen District Court, as per a court representative. The accused man confessed to murdering his father and his father's partner in court.

The public prosecutor had called for life imprisonment for murder against the 38-year-old and his 33-year-old wife in the trial the day prior. Meanwhile, the friend of the couple, who allegedly assisted them in committing the violent act, was requested to serve a sentence of fewer than four years for aiding and abetting by the public prosecutor. The verdict will be announced on Thursday afternoon.

The accused couple is said to have co-operatively stabbed the girlfriend of the father, aged 55, and suffocated the 70-year-old father. Initially, the defendants declined to participate in the trial, but the son eventually admitted to committing the crimes. However, he maintained that the wife had been waiting outside the house during this time.

The 33-year-old friend hailing from Albstadt, Baden-Württemberg (Zollernalb district) is believed to have given the couple a fake alibi and cared for their child during the act of violence. The lawyers for the co-defendant and accused wife claim there is no substantial evidence linking their clients to the act of violence and, as such, they have requested their acquittal.
