Heavy traffic congestion in Munich. - A tram accident disrupts evening commutes.
At 6:43 in the morning, a truck slammed into a completely full Munich Transport Company (MVG) streetcar in Dachauer Straße. Thankfully, no passengers were harmed, but the road had to be shut down at the intersection of Landshuter Allee going into the city's center.
The fire department revealed that the truck had collided with the front of the streetcar. When emergency responders got to the scene, all passengers had already evacuated the streetcar.
MVG employees directed the passengers to the next stop. The truck driver received care from emergency services, but did not need any treatment.
To clear the crossing zone, the streetcar was pushed back to the next stop. The truck was so severely damaged that it couldn't drive anymore. While waiting for a tow truck, firefighters removed all vehicle debris from the intersection.
