What occurred in that area? - A popular figure infiltrates DFB coaching sessions.
In Jena, during a public appearance of Germany's football stars, there was an unexpected surprise - a new player on the field!
Could Nagelsmann have secretly recruited someone?
Nope! Instead, it was YouTuber Marvin Wildhage (27 years old with 835,000 subscribers) who managed to sneak onto the field while they were in their official training outfits. He even had his camera crew dress up in Germany kits. The players were practicing near the touchline at the time.
Marvin boasted, "I managed it for a short while! But I'll be honest with you: My playing time was almost as short as Chris Kramer's in 2014 at the final."
He briefly touched the ball, and two players considered letting him play. However, he couldn't interact with the coaches.
A DFB employee later escorted Wildhage backstage with no repercussions. "They completely understood the joke, but you really have to be careful."
Marvin had attempted this prank before, sneaking onto the field as an uninvited guest at Werder Hannover 96 and Hertha BSC Berlin in the past.
The game took place on the Ernst-Abbe-Sportfeld in Jena, where the national team held their first training session for the European Championship preparation. The event was attended by 15,000 spectators. Wildhage was recognized by the fans and praised for his prank! Many requested his autograph.
For the enthusiastic fans, it was worth the effort.
