Court Case in Saxony - A person in charge of looking after ladies with dementia is said to have neglected and mistreated them.
A district court trial started recently in Zwickau, Saxony, after Ralf D., who was suspended in September 2021, was accused of inappropriate behavior. He allegedly hurt a female dementia patient, causing her pain and bleeding.
The authorities found suggestive photos of Ralf D. that featured a male organ being inserted into a female patient's mouth on different days. The charges for both incidents were filed.
Ralf D. addressed the allegations privately but showed no remorse, while the public was barred from witnessing the questioning of the investigating officers. This was considered necessary to protect Ralf D. since the discussion would cover highly personal aspects of his life.
Meanwhile, nursing staff testified in public about Ralf D.'s crude remarks regarding the assaulted person's large breasts. Another employee spotted him in the washroom with an elderly care recipient whose waistband he hastily pulled up.
The Diakonie nursing home director shared that another resident refused to be looked after by Ralf D. because he constantly greeted her with the question, "Are you naked yet?".
The Glauchau, Saxony-based nursing home's abuse victim passed away at 86 years old towards the end of 2023. The personnel stated that she was extremely demented, spending most of her time in bed and living in her own reality.
The trial is ongoing.
