Labor organizations - A large number of attendees anticipated at May 1 DGB protests.

The Hamburg chapter of the German Trade Union Confederation (DGB) will be marking Labor Day this Wednesday with three events under the slogan "Higher pay, more free time, greater security." Over 3,000 people are projected to join the biggest rally, which begins at 10:15 am at Max Brauer Allee before culminating at the fish market. Maike Finnern, the Chairwoman of the Education and Science Union (GEW), is scheduled to speak at the event. Additionally, 120 people are estimated to be a part of a DGB rally in Harburg while another 500 are expected in Bergedorf.

Apart from the DGB's planned rallies, the expected presence of the left-leaning and left-radical activist groups will mark the occasion. Law enforcement in Hamburg anticipates backup from other federal states.
