Ostholstein District - A horse has died following suspected abuse.
A horse passed away in Ostholstein due to suspected mistreatment by an unidentified individual. The remains of the 19-year-old mare were discovered in a meadow within Sereetz, a village within Ratekau municipality, early Monday morning. Officers confirmed that the horse's corpse has been sent to a lab for more analysis. A second horse was also said to exhibit symptoms of poisoning from an obscure substance. It is believed that the horse required medical treatment from a vet. The authorities are now conducting an investigation into potential Animal Welfare Act violations and seeking any prospective eyewitnesses.
