A guest's luxury watch was stolen from the Westin Hotel in Las Vegas

Earlier this year, a $50,000 watch was stolen from a Chinese tourist staying at the Westin Hotel and Spa in Las Vegas. An alleged prostitute was recently arrested for stealing expensive items.

The theft occurred on August 7 when a hotel guest woke up to find his diamond-encrusted Hublot watch missing.

A silver suitcase containing credit cards, Balenciaga slippers, clothing and an undisclosed amount of cash was also stolen. The missing items were worth a total of $64,000, Las Vegas television station KLAS reported.

As police investigated the theft, they identified the suspect as Arreanna Ubando. She and another woman were accused of taking part in the so-called "scam," in which alleged prostitutes stole money or items from customers.

Crime scene

The Chinese man met the two women at about 5am. According to KLAS, he accidentally bumped into one of the women while at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. The unnamed tourist told police he wanted to make it up to the women and invited them to his room at the Westin Hotel. The three of them drank drinks in the room.

At some point, he took photos of the two women. Based on photos and surveillance video, officers with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) identified the suspect as Ubando.

A background check showed she had been charged in a previous prostitution case, KLAS reported. The identity of the second woman remains unknown.

According to police, the suspected sex worker left the man's room, walked out of the hotel and onto Flamenco Street. One of the two was carrying a suitcase.

Ubando was arrested and charged with multiple crimes, including:

  • Theft valued at $25,000 but less than $100,000
  • Residential burglary, first offense
  • Engaging in prostitution or soliciting activities

Ubando was released on bail and is expected to return to court on January 9, 2024.

In October, a teenage woman allegedly stole two expensive Rolex watches from a man staying in a Wynn hotel room in Las Vegas. He fell asleep and woke up to find that the clock was missing.

The two watches are described as Rolex Presidentials and are valued at $60,500 and $49,000 respectively. Stephens, like Ubando, had been charged in a previous prostitution case.

The defendant, Tramiyah Stephens, 18 or 19 years old of Las Vegas, was charged with theft of $100,000 or more and prostitution, KLAS reported.
