On Whit Monday at approximately 8:20 am, a young German man (21 years old) was discovered in a side street of Playa de Palma in S'Arenal by workers at a nearby laundry. He was covered in blood and unconscious. Despite attempts to resuscitate him, the tourist was sadly deceased.
The circumstances surrounding his death are still unclear. The location where he was found is beside the "Sol de Mallorca" hotel. Could he have fallen from its balcony? Or was he the target of a mugging in the dark alleyway?
According to the Spanish news agency "Cronicabalear," there are some indications of an attack. Preliminary investigations suggest that the young German's body doesn't have the typical fractures seen in a balcony fall. Additionally, there were no blood splashes found on the wall.
The Policia Nacional's homicide squad has taken over the investigation. Forensic teams are currently on the scene, and the body of the 21-year-old has been transported to the forensic institute in Palma for an autopsy.
