Three deaths in a blast occur in Düsseldorf - A fire was intentionally set.
The authorities in Düsseldorf have shared details about the cause of the deadly explosion and the identities of the victims.
➡️ One person found dead in an apartment on the second floor was the tenant (55).
➡️ Another victim (18) was discovered in the stairwell, trying to escape the flames. He died due to smoke inhalation.
➡️ According to authorities, the third victim was the husband (48) of the kiosk tenant. He operated the store with his wife, and most likely died immediately from the blast.
Petrol as a fire accelerant
Specialists examined the site and collected significant evidence. Preliminary forensic and chemical analysis suggests that the fire was fueled by a fire accelerant - petrol. It's believed that the petrol was spilled on the first floor, creating a combustible mix of petrol and air.
No signs of politically motivated violence
As the investigation continues, there are currently no indications of political violence or external influence.
The injured individuals are receiving medical attention at hospitals and specialized clinics. One seriously hurt woman's life remains critical.
