Witten City in North Rhine-Westphalia: - A fire in a residential building has claimed one life and left three others injured.

At 1:27 am, as the fire department arrived on the scene, the house was already completely engulfed in flames. By then, three residents had managed to escape - one jumping from the first floor. They were treated by paramedics and taken to nearby hospitals.

Tragically, an older woman was still unaccounted for. The brave firefighters bravely battled the blaze and found her within the burning wreckage, but sadly, she was already deceased.

In a heroic effort, the remainder of the flames were brought under control from the outside. Around 50 firefighters and two aerial ladders were called in to tackle the blaze, with the clean-up process anticipated to carry on until noon.

The fire is now under control, but the extinguishing work continues
