A 72-year-old man becomes furious. - A casino refuses to pay out millions in winnings.
A 71-year-old woman reveals her tale of winning a fortune at Bally's Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey. At the casino, she played a slot machine, having already added a couple of hundred bucks. She desired to earn a thousand dollars.
Casino offered a joke consolation prize
"Suddenly it began: gold coins popped out, and the phrase 'jackpot' appeared on the screen. A man rushed over and roared, 'You're a millionaire now!,'" recounted the lady from Shamong Township, New Jersey.
She pressed a button to summon the casino's staff members. Upon her version of events, an error message was displayed on the screen. An employee approached her and with a sorrowful expression, stated: "Ma'am, I'm afraid you haven't won anything." The employee subsequently fiddled with the machine and proposed 350 dollars as compensation. However, the woman, Beal, rejected the offer, subsequently being thrown out.
Ms. Beal has now enlisted the help of a lawyer. Mike Dicroce expresses: "They meddled with the machine before anyone else could examine it!"
He is pursuing a compensation of more than 3.5 million dollars for his client from Bally's Casino. This sum contains two jackpots amounting to 1.28 million dollars, which Beal insists she won using the corresponding multiplier. In addition, one million is being sought as "compensation for emotional distress".
"I hope and pray that I receive the money before I die"
Ms. Beal may well be awarded money in an undefined amount: In a similar scenario, a gambler was given almost the complete sum of 1.35 million. However, Garrett Grigg had to wait a total of six years before receiving his payout.
Time that the 72-year-old may not have if the past year's heart attack is to be considered. The senior citizen expressed: "I hope and pray that I obtain the money before I pass away." She plans to utilize her winnings to procure a caravan for her homeless son.
