Club highlight Uzun - A bitter goodbye exchange.

In the recent 3-0 victory against Elversberg, Uzun nabbed his 16th goal of the season as well as an assist that helped seal the win. Coach Cristian Fiél (44) begrudgingly commented on Uzun's impressive showing, "I've got different perspectives on who deserves the man of the match title. Guess that's why I'm the coach."

In response to the claim that Uzun greatly improved the team's offense, producing seven shots on target during the game, Fiél replied, "That's just what he's expected to do as an attacking player." Unfortunately, Uzun's final game with the team will be in Nuremberg, as he has earned his fifth yellow card and has been suspended for the upcoming season finale.

This lingering conflict between the player and coach is not a new one. Fiél, who emphasizes the importance of teamwork, often was critical about Uzun's attitude on the field. Privately, Uzun was chastised for seeking individual recognition at the cost of putting in the required effort against the ball. Most recently, he was benched during the team's match against Düsseldorf. Fiél's general praise of Uzun's performance this season was lukewarm, stating, "He really played exceptionally. In terms of goals scored." As a parting gesture, he added, "I wish him the best of luck in his future football career."

Fiél's subtle message: Uzun needs to adjust his attitude to make it big in the Bundesliga.

Training

The season's final match, taking place on Sunday at 3:30 pm, will see Nuremberg ending a challenging second division campaign at HSV. After the last game on Monday, the team will be on a five-week break before returning for pre-season training on June 24.

Birthday greetings

A reminder for football fans and announcers alike: Jacek Krzynowek celebrates his 48th birthday on Wednesday. Between 1999 and 2004, Krzynowek contributed to the team with 142 appearances as a left-footer. After leaving for Bayer Leverkusen, he passed the torch to the next generation of talent.

Public sessions

With their spot in the league secured, Cristian Fiél's team will host three public training sessions prior to the conclusion of their training season. These sessions will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
