Mishap occurs - A 55-year-old man meets his demise after driving his vehicle under a truck.
A 55-year-old man died in a tragic incident on the A3 highway between Bad Camberg and Limburg on Monday evening. He drove his car right under a truck, as reported by the police the next day. The man had suddenly changed lanes from the left to the right on this three-lane road without any apparent reason. The 59-year-old truck driver was driving on the right. The reason why the deceased man drove under the truck remained unknown.
This incident caused the A3 in the direction of Cologne to be closed for several hours to clear the accident site. This led to another accident at the tail end of the traffic jam. As per the police reports, a 32-year-old female truck driver failed to notice a stationary truck in the rightmost lane. She hit the truck without braking, resulting in serious injuries for the driver. She was airlifted to the hospital. The closure of the rightmost lane caused huge traffic delays until Tuesday morning. The police are currently investigating the cause of this accident.
Another accident happened on the A3 near Wiesbaden on Tuesday morning. A 47-year-old woman crashed into a parked truck in slow-moving traffic. The car she hit, then hit a van. The driver of the middle car, a 42-year-old man, sustained injuries and was hospitalized. While rescue and cleanup efforts were underway, there was heavy traffic congestion. The police have estimated the damage to be approximately 17,000 euros.
