Block of engine removed - A 53-year-old driver perishes after his Ford collides with a truck.
On a Monday morning, there was a dreadful crash on the B268 road in the Trier-Saarburg district, Rhineland-Palatinate. As reported by the police, a motorist was driving from Zerf to Trier around 10 am on this rural road. Unexpectedly, the Ford veered into the path of the oncoming vehicles.
He collided into an oncoming vehicle without hitting the brakes.
The impact of the crash threw the car across the road to the opposite side. Due to the immense force, even the engine block was pulled out of the engine compartment. The car's bodywork was completely warped. The oncoming truck was also badly damaged, with its windshield shattering, and the driver was trapped.
The fire department, police, and ambulance service promptly responded to the accident site. Both drivers had to be extracted from their vehicles. The truck driver (46 years old) was then transported to the hospital with severe injuries.
Sadly, no help arrived in time to save the driver of the car. The 53-year-old individual tragically lost their life due to the crash.
Emergency responders were contacted for assistance. "Thank goodness, not every mission is like this," stated the representative in the afternoon. "However, it is what we do."
The police informed that the public prosecutor's office ordered an expert examination to determine the cause of the accident. The B268 was shut down temporarily to facilitate the investigation.
