Deadly collision on the L317 roadway. - A 22-year-old woman's car ends up on the roof.
In Sieverstedt, a 22-year-old female driver sadly lost her life in a three-car accident. The incident took place on the Landesstraße 317 connecting Jevenstedt and Jübek, within Schleswig-Holstein.
Reports suggest that the young woman was operating a Ford vehicle, whilst a BMW driver came out of the Helligbek parking lot. The authorities claim that the driver of the BMW might've thought he had the right of way over the oncoming car, potentially causing the accident.
An investigation by the police on Saturday confirmed that the BMW driver hadn't noticed the oncoming Ford.
Upon impact, the woman's Ford collided with the rear end of the BMW station wagon. Following the collision of these two vehicles, the Ford was propelled into the opposite lane, where it clashed head-on with a VW Tiguan.
In the end, the Ford ended up on its roof, completely destroying the car. The VW was also severely damaged due to the extensive impact.
Sadly, the 22-year-old woman didn't survive the accident and passed away at the crash site.
Meanwhile, the driver of the VW was gravely wounded and airlifted to the hospital for treatment. The BMW had three passengers, all of whom suffered minor injuries and were looked after by the emergency services.
Over 30 rescue workers dedicate their efforts to resolve the situation and the Landesstraße remained closed for a significant period.
