Infant meets tragic end in bowl of water. - A 20-year-old mother has been ordered to serve time in prison.

One year ago, a tragic crime took place. Maria B. found herself alone in the bathroom while giving birth to her son. The presiding judge, Christoph Limmer, stated that she "put him head down in the toilet. The defendant flushed the toilet until the child died. Suffocated by drowning."

During the sentencing, public prosecutor Felix Prokop had requested seven years imprisonment for the murderer. He pointed out that the child was an obstacle in her career progression: "She wanted a career in the kitchen, but no children." Maria B. had the prospect of working for renowned chef Tim Raue after a recommendation by her boss.

The defendant didn't want to work for Tim Raue

However, the juvenile criminal court disagreed with the prosecutor's submission when considering the evidence presented. Maria B.'s boss testified that when he informed her of the opportunity to join Raue's team, her reaction was "anxious and hesitant."

The court reasoned that the family context was crucial, stating that the family was "strictly religious" and "problems within the family were never communicated." Annulling the pregnancy and raising an illegitimate child were unacceptable for the family. The judge explained that it was vital to the accused "not to harm the family's public image."

Lawyer Schwerdt remarked, "My client anticipated a suspended sentence. She's overwhelmed right now. I'll talk to her later about the possibility of an appeal." However, he did mention that "with good behavior, she'll be released in a year."

Tim Raue also has a restaurant in Munich. The defendant could probably have worked there
