In a German court, a juvenile encountered charges of threatening, kidnapping, and inflicting harm.
Since the youth was underage, the trial occurred early in the morning, out of public view. There were six witnesses present, including law enforcement personnel.
Supervision from the Youth Welfare Office
Following a four-hour deliberation, the judge delivered a verdict: For inflicting bodily harm in two instances, serious larceny in two instances, threats, insults, and joint damage to property, the 15-year-old offender received a reprimand.
In addition to this, the court implemented a four-week detention sentence and mandated a subsequent four-month supervision by the Youth Welfare Office. Moreover, he was ordered to undergo a detoxification treatment.
Accused claimed to be part of a youth gang
The defendants, along with other minors, hailed from the districts of Nordfriesland and Dithmarschen. They allegedly participated in a series of crimes in Heide in varying combinations between late 2023 and early 2024.
Yet, the violence did not cease with the accusation being filed: A month later, his mother and himself were assaulted again by the gang. There was a large-scale brawl. The accused was also a participant.
Additionally, a threat emerged on March 1st: at the St. Michaelisdonn train station. A female and two other juveniles threatened to eliminate him if he did not retract the complaint. The accused was present in this scenario as well.
Four youths from the Heide gang held in custody
Four youths associated with the Heide gang, aged 14-18, were held in detention for various periods due to fear of witness intimidation. They are accused of coercing witnesses into abstaining from testifying. The investigation continues against other participants of the Heide gang.
