888 names a new CEO.

Licensed under Gibraltar, gaming company 888 Holdings has named its former Chief Operating Officer (COO), Itai Pazner, as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The current CEO, Itai Frieberger, is set to step down from his position after three years.

Not Just the Same First Names

Itai Pazner will take over as Managing Director starting next year, while Frieberger will continue in his role for the next 12 months. Frieberger spent over 14 years with the London-based stock exchange company, including eight years in management positions. He played a significant role in several strategic initiatives that contributed to 888's current economic standing, having been CEO and COO during this period.

Frieberger shared his sentiments regarding his decision, saying it was the "right time to step back from the daily operations of the business." During his tenure, Frieberger recognized the company's achievements and its capacity to adapt to industry changes, citing its diverse leadership team and technological advancements as factors: "888 has always achieved its strategic goals in the evolving global online gaming landscape. This is due to the strength of our team and our world-class technology."

Pazner and Frieberger share more than just their first names, they also share a "tremendous passion for innovation, product development, and customer experience." Frieberger praised his successor, stating that both share the same approach, values, and vision for 888. Frieberger plans to support Pazner during the next few months, sharing his wealth of experience in executive roles:

"I know we share the same approach, values, and vision for 888. I will remain on the Board to support him and am also using my relationships to make further progress on a number of exciting initiatives that are already underway. I have no doubt that Itai Pazner is the right person to lead 888 through its next phase of growth."

A Successful Successor

The appointment of Itai Pazner has been well-received by the 888 Board of Directors, who believe him to be the "ideal successor" for the role: "In Itai Pazner, we have the ideal successor as CEO," reads a statement from the chairman. Pazner is considered an "experienced and dynamic operator" and has developed a "deep understanding" of 888 over the last few years. The statement also highlights:

"Itai Pazner has a successful track record with the group and has led the development of various customer-facing 888 brands, as well as overseeing marketing, customer service, and IT operations in online casinos. He has been instrumental in 888's growth, opening new markets and spearheading marketing and branding innovations."

The 888 chairman confirmed Frieberger's decision to stay on board: "I am delighted that Itai Frieberger has agreed to remain on the Board to support Itai Pazner and ensure a smooth transition." Pazner's lengthy tenure with 888 means that he has a solid understanding of the company's strategies and operations:

"I believe Itai Frieberger and I have worked together for many years, and he is an exceptional colleague. His contributions to 888 have been outstanding. On behalf of the entire team, I would like to thank him for his efforts and commitment."

A Vision for the Future

While Pazner will officially take over as CEO in the new year, he is already planning for 888's future. The future CEO intends to build on Frieberger's work and continue the company's growth strategy. He has set his sights on improving its technological capabilities and expanding into new regulated markets, such as the United States, where sports betting has recently been legalized.

888 has already made inroads into the American market through their sports betting business in New Jersey, and last November acquired 53% of the All American Poker Network (AAPN), allowing players in Delaware, New Jersey, and Nevada to compete against one another. Additionally, a multi-million-dollar deal with the National Football League (NFL) was announced in November 2018.

"Itai Frieberger is an admired figure in the online gaming industry. His efforts have been instrumental in the growth and development of the Group over the years. I am excited to build on his work and continue 888's growth strategy." Pazner stated confidently.

The New CEO of 888: Itai Pazner

In truth, Itai Pazner is far from a newcomer to 888: he has been part of the Group since 2007. He was promoted to the role of Chief Operating Officer in 2017, where he oversaw the development of customer-facing brands, marketing, customer service, and IT operations in 888 online casinos.

Reflecting on his appointment, Pazner acknowledged Frieberger's significant impact on 888's business: "Itai Frieberger is a respected figure within 888 and across the online gambling industry. His influence has played an enormous role in the remarkable development of the Group over the years." This recognition only solidifies Pazner's commitment to carrying on Frieberger's legacy: "I am very excited to build on his work and continue 888's growth strategy."

Without a doubt, the sports betting deal with the National Football League, the world's leading profitable sports organization, puts 888 in a superb initial position on the other side of the ocean. But for the moment, we're waiting to see how things progress in foreign lands.
